THREE, HOW THE ESSENCE OF WHAT LIVES

Friday, November 10, 21:00
Teatro Cucinelli

Ten years separate the composition of the two works from Robert Schumann’s repertoire that have been proposed for “Aurora and the Fulfillment of the Kalviertrio Idea”. Four Fantasy Pieces Op. 88, composed during December 1842 as a collection of short and constrasting works, came to light in the majestic and mysterious splendour of Felix Mendelssohn’s Trio Op. 49. Schumann composed Trio Op. 110, however, at the end of 1851 in Düsseldorf; this work reinterprets the traditional structure by providing the three instruments with broad autonomy and impressive thematic cohesiveness.
